The ICS Triplex T8846C Speed Input FTA Module is a high-reliability field termination assembly designed for use 

with ICS Triplex Trusted® speed monitoring and safety control systems. This module provides secure and accurate 

interface connections for speed input signals used in rotating machinery monitoring applications such as turbines, 

compressors, motors, and critical industrial equipment. Engineered for demanding industrial environments, the 

T8846C supports trusted input circuitry, electrical isolation, and robust signal conditioning to ensure dependable speed 

signal transmission and enhanced system safety. Its rugged industrial design simplifies field wiring and installation 

while improving maintenance efficiency and operational reliability. The module is commonly used in process control, 

machinery protection, motion control, and safety instrumented systems across industries including oil & gas, power 

generation, petrochemical, and manufacturing.

Product Applications

Oil & Gas: Used in offshore drilling platforms, refineries, and large natural gas pipelines. Primarily responsible for 

monitoring the real-time speed of large compressors, industrial pumps, and natural gas turbines to prevent explosions 

or major equipment damage due to overspeed.
Power Generation: Widely used in thermal power generation, nuclear power, and large hydroelectric power plants. It is 

often integrated into the core turbine overspeed protection system (OPC) to ensure the generator set can be safely shut 

down instantly in the event of a sudden anomaly.
Petrochemical: Chemical reactions often involve high pressure and high temperature. The T8846C is used to monitor 

the operating status of core rotating equipment such as ethylene cracking gas compressors and quench oil pumps.
Metals & Mining: Used for power monitoring of high-load rotating machinery such as large blast furnace blowers and 

high-power rolling mills to prevent mechanical fatigue fractures.
Marine: Used in the main propulsion systems of large ships and cryogenic pumps for LNG carriers, providing highly 

fault-tolerant industrial control in harsh sea conditions.
