Bently Nevada Seismoprobe Velocity Transducer Systems aredesigned to measure absolute (relative to free space)
bearing housing, casing, or structural vibration. The two-wiresystems consist of a transducer and appropriate cable.
The Seismoprobe family of velocity transducers is a two-wiredesign that uses moving-coil technology. It provides
avoltage output directly proportional to the transducer'svibration velocity.
Moving-coil transducers are less sensitive to impact orimpulsive excitation than solid-state velocity transducers,which
are inherently accelerometers with embeddedintegration electronics.
Moving-coil transducers are less sensitive to impact orimpulsive excitation and can represent a good choice for
certain applications. Because they don't require externalpower, they are convenient for portable measurement
applications.

Power Generation Industry: Used for monitoring the shaft vibration and absolute vibration of the casing of steam turbines,
gas turbines and hydroelectric generating units.
Petrochemical Industry: Conduct continuous vibration monitoring for centrifugal/compressor type and reciprocating
type compressors, large industrial pumps and gearboxes to prevent unplanned equipment shutdowns.
Metallurgy and Manufacturing: Monitor the structural and bearing box vibrations of blast furnace fans, large exhaust fans,
coal mills and heavy machinery.
