When combined with a 3300 XL Proximitor Sensor and XLextension cable, the system provides an output voltage thatis
directly proportional to the distance between the probe tipand the observed conductive surface. The system canmeasure
both static (position) and dynamic (vibration) data.Its primary use is in vibration and position measurementapplications
on fluid-film bearing machines, as well asKeyphasor measurement and speed measurementapplications6.
The system provides an accurate, stable signal output over awide temperature range. All 3300 XL Proximity Transducer
Systems achieve this level of performance with completeinterchangeability of probe, extension cable, and Proximitor
sensor, eliminating the need for individual componentmatchingor bench calibration.
Product Applications
Thermal/Hydropower Plants: Used to monitor shaft vibration and axial displacement of large steam turbines, gas turbines,
and generator sets to prevent severe rotor-stator collisions.
Oil & Gas and Refinery Plants: Monitor the operating status of high-speed centrifugal compressors, large industrial pumps,
and pipeline pumps; a core frontline sensing element in critical equipment asset protection systems (such as the Bently
Nevada 3500 system).
Heavy Industrial Manufacturing (Steel/Cement Plants): Monitor wear and oscillation of bearings in large blowers and
crushers to enable condition monitoring and predictive maintenance (PHM).
