The Siemens 6ES7972-0AA01-0XA0 is a SIMATIC DP RS-485 repeater module designed to extend and isolate 

PROFIBUS and MPI industrial bus systems. It allows communication speeds of up to 12 Mbit/s and safely connects 

up to 31 nodes per segment, protecting networks from short circuits, overvoltage, and overcurrent.

Product Applications

Automotive manufacturing plants: Used in ultra-long production lines such as welding and final assembly lines to 

stably connect the main control PLC with hundreds or thousands of KUKA/ABB robots and distributed I/O (such as 

ET 200) distributed across various sections.
Petrochemical and metallurgical plants: In harsh environments with strong electromagnetic interference, its 

opto-isolation function protects the main control room PLC from high-frequency harmonic interference from field

pumps, valves, and frequency converters.
Tobacco and food packaging plants: Used in highly integrated material conveyor belts and multi-axis linkage packaging 

lines to ensure lossless transmission of high-frequency data (such as 12 Mbit/s) between multiple dense network nodes.
Metallurgical and cement building materials plants: In fieldbus links hundreds of meters or even kilometers long, it acts as 

a signal amplifier (each additional amplifier can connect up to 31 more devices), ensuring accurate data transmission 

from end-point sensors.
Water treatment and power distribution plants: Used for long-distance network monitoring of large water pumping stations 

and distributed distribution cabinets.
