The MV146-MCM is a single slot module that directly installs to a 1746 backplane. This module receives a valid
configuration when installed to the local rack or extension rack. It does not support installation to a remote I/O rack.
It comes with One (1) RJ45 debug and configuration port and supplied with a DB-9M cable and operates using
RS-232 standard only. It also has Two (2) RJ45 RS-232/422/485 Application combo ports. Additionally, the MV146-MCM
is equipped with Module status, Backplane transfer status, Application status, Serial activity and error status LED. The
MV146-MCM enables any compatible SLC 500 processor to easily interface with MODBUS enabled devices and
hosts instruments. It serves as an I/O module between the MODBUS network and the SLC 500 backplane. It
performs asynchronous data transfer and provides a 5000-Word register size when performing data exchanges between
the module and the processor over the MODBUS network. This communication adapter specifically supports Foreign
device data concentrator, Pipelines and offshore platforms, Food processing, Mining, Pulp and paper as well as
SCADA communication applications.
