The Bentley Nevada TK-3 Proximity System Test Kit and the TK3-2 Calibration Instrument are both used to simulate
shaft vibration and position for calibrating Bently Nevada monitors. They verify the operating condition of the
monitor readouts and the proximity transducer system for accurate readings and inputs.
Both tools use a spindle micrometer assembly to check the transducer system and position monitor calibration.
They feature a universal probe mount accommodating various probe diameters.
Vibration monitors are calibrated using a motor-driven wobble plate. A swing-arm assembly holds the proximity
probe in place, and users adjust the probe to find the desired mechanical vibration level. A dial micrometer
measures vibration without the need for an oscilloscope.
The mechanical vibration signal ranges from 50 to 254 μm (2 to 10 mils) peak-to-peak. Comparing monitor
readings to known mechanical vibration signals ensures accurate calibration.
