The 21000/24701 Proximity Housing Assemblies are availablewith Canadian Standards Association (CSA) approvals.
Theyare rated explosion proof for hazardous areas.
You can order hazardous area approved proximity probes with21000 aluminum and 24701 stainless steel
housings forintrinsically safe applications. Both housings are certified asCSA Type 4 enclosures and are fully compliant
with theAmerican Petroleum Institute's (API) 670 Standard forexternally mounted proximity probe housings.
Sleeve length is determined by the location in which the probeand housing will be installed. The probe lead must be
longer than the sleeve. Sleeve lengths longer than 304mm (12 inches) require additional sleevesupport to reduce the
vibration associated withunsupported long sleeve lengths.
Product Applications
Oil and gas, refineries: Commonly used for key condition monitoring of high-pressure natural gas compressors, crude
oil transportation pumps, and large fans. Due to the explosion-proof rating (CSA Type 4) of the protective cover, it is
highly suitable for high-risk and flammable environments. Thermal and hydroelectric power plants: Mainly installed on
the exterior of steam turbines, gas turbines, and main bearing boxes of power generation units.
Large chemical plants: Conduct 24-hour continuous online monitoring of ethylene compressors, centrifugal fans, and
various large mixing pumps.
Metallurgy and steel mills: Bearing condition monitoring for blast furnaces, large rolling mills transmission systems.
