The PROXPAC XL housing is made of Polyphenylene Sulfide(PPS), which is an advanced, molded thermoplastic.
This material replaces the steel and aluminum in previoushousings offered in the Bently Nevada product line.
It alsoincorporates glass and conductive fibers in the PPs tostrengthen the housing and more effectively
dissipateelectrostatic charges. The PROXPAC XL housing is rated forType 4x and for IP66 environments and
provides extraprotection in severe environments.
Product Applications
Electric power industry: Monitor the shaft vibration, shaft displacement and rotational speed of steam turbines, gas
turbines, generators and feedwater pumps.
Petroleum and Chemicals: Monitoring and predictive maintenance of bearing wear for large pump sets, fans, and
electric motors. Heavy Industry (mining, steel): Displacement measurement for large gearboxes and heavy rotating
machinery.
Oil and Gas: Condition protection for centrifugal or axial-flow compressors, reciprocating compressors, and
expanders, especially in systems that comply with API 670 standards.
